Alejandro Duval was known for two things: his immeasurable fortune and his heart of ice. For years he avoided marriage, until he decided to play a dangerous game: he would find a wife, but only the woman who survived his trials would keep his name… and his money.
Three candidates arrived at his mansion that afternoon: Valentina, elegant in emerald green; Camila, serene in a white dress that looked almost bridal; and Sofía, the youngest, dressed in navy blue and full of nerves.
“Welcome,” Alejandro said with a smile that promised nothing good. “Before inheriting my fortune, each of you must pass five trials.”
The three smiled, confident. They had no idea what awaited them behind the oak door at the end of the hallway.

When Alejandro turned the golden handle, none of them imagined that on the other side… the first trial was already waiting.
The door opened slowly, and what they found left them speechless.
Inside the luxurious kitchen, total chaos reigned: three children ran between the marble island and the wooden cabinets, throwing pillows at each other with all the force of their childhood energy. Feathers floated in the air mixed with a cloud of flour, dishes and toys covered the floor, and the children’s laughter echoed through the whole room.
“This… is this the first trial?” asked Camila, the candidate in the white dress, her eyes wide as saucers.
Alejandro smiled, crossing his arms.
“Exactly. Welcome to the real world. These are my nephews, and today they’re staying with us all afternoon. Whoever manages to bring order to this kitchen without losing her calm… will prove she’s ready for something more than just my money.”
Valentina stepped back, hesitant, looking at her silk dress as if she could already picture it ruined. Sofía looked at the scene in panic, calculating how many flour stains her elegance could survive. Only Camila, taking a deep breath, quietly slipped off her heels and began walking toward the disaster, barefoot on the cold marble.
She knelt beside the youngest of the children, a boy with curious eyes who eyed her with suspicion, ready to throw a pillow at her. Instead of dodging it, Camila let it hit her shoulder head-on, and burst into a clean, genuine laugh. The boy, surprised, let his guard down for the first time.

“Will you teach me how to play?” she asked him, and the little one, puzzled, slowly nodded.
From the doorway, Alejandro watched the scene without saying a word, his expression no longer mocking but genuinely curious. He had never seen anyone approach chaos with that kind of calm.
Sofía, gathering her courage, stepped forward to try as well. Valentina, on the other hand, stayed by the door, arms crossed, still weighing the situation, not yet ready to decide.
“Maybe,” Alejandro murmured to himself, “the fortune won’t be so hard to hand over after all… if I find the right person.”
Will Camila fully pass the first trial? Will Valentina and Sofía dare to follow her example? Find out what happened in the next episode of “The Price of Wealth.”
