Every staff member at the zoo knew that day would be different, but no one imagined the real stars of the show would be the elephants.
Mateo had spent weeks planning the perfect moment to propose to Elena, his coworker of three years. He chose the exact place where they’d met: the Asian elephant enclosure, surrounded by the animals they both cared for so lovingly.

The crowd burst out laughing as he was left standing there with an empty hand, not sure whether to laugh or stay on one knee.
What happened next was something nobody expected: the elephant took a few steps and, in an almost human gesture, reached her trunk toward her companion and handed over the flowers, as if she too wanted to be part of the romantic moment. “Look at that… even the elephant gave flowers to her partner,” Elena said, laughing through tears.
The crowd, now completely swept up in the moment, began clapping and cheering for Elena to say yes. And with her heart overflowing, she threw herself into Mateo’s arms.
“Yes, I do, my love… yes,” she said, holding him tight while the two elephants, now sharing their own bouquet, seemed to watch the scene with the same tenderness as everyone else.
